Circumferential crack modeling of thin cylindrical shells in modal deformation

چکیده

An innovative technique, called conversion, is introduced to model circumferential cracks in thin cylindrical shells. The semi-analytical finite element method applied investigate the modal deformation of cylinder. including crack divided into three sub-elements with four nodes which stiffness matrix enriched. characteristics are included relations through conversion matrices and a rotational spring corresponding crack. Conversion obtained by applying continuity conditions at tip used transform displacements middle those main nodes. Moreover, another set, represented based on set springs as separated element. Components related incorporated while geometric boundary satisfied. effects mode number, depth length cylinder critical buckling load investigated. Experimental tests, ABAQUS modeling results from literature verify validate derived relations. In addition, effect natural frequency examined using vibration analysis technique.
